The senior associate athletic director serves as the business manager for the athletic department including budgetary planning and management of fiscal aspects of all sports programs including both home and away contests. Responsible for the athletic department’s budgeting, purchasing, expense monitoring, credit card management, travel, etc. The position provides oversight of the daily operations of the fitness center. Working in collaboration with the athletic director assists in delivering quality educational and auxiliary programming to student-athletes and coaches, and develops sound processes to ensure the delivery of holistic support to student-athletes according to institutional mission and NCAA and Centennial Conference requirements. Works in collaboration with campus and conference stakeholders including but not limited to college advancement and enrollment management.
Essential Functions:
Works in collaboration with the athletic director and financial operations to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity and transparency of financial operations within the athletic department. Manages athletic contracts/agreements and inventory. Works with teams to ensure fundraising meets established guidelines and accounts are maintained in good standing.
Oversees the preparation, monitoring, and management of the annual operating budget(s), revenue forecasts, and expenditure projections for all athletic programs. Provides ongoing monitoring of financial performance, analyzes variances and provides recommendations for optimizing resource allocations and maximizing revenue-generating opportunities.
Oversees all financial aspects of both away and home contests as well as student-athlete recruitment activities this includes the payment of officials, travel, lodging, etc. Works in collaboration with the coaching staff to ensure the appropriate scheduling of all buses and vans for team travel. May assist in securing student-athlete recruitment travel accommodations for the coaching staff. Manages all requisitions and expenses for the athletic department, including all coaches and staff. Oversees the administration and reconciliation of all purchase cards issued to members of the athletic department.
Provides oversight for select athletic programs and their support staff. Support student-athletes and coaches to enhance the holistic student-athlete experience by providing leadership, advice, and guidance
Oversees daily operations of the fitness center including but not limited to the management of the physical space and staffing. Responsible for identifying equipment/replacement needs and securing appropriate resources for the delivery of an outstanding customer focused facility.
Works in collaboration with college advancement to develop strong relationships with current and prospective donors and alumni in creating a comprehensive athletic annual giving program focused on growing donor participation and increasing giving totals. Helps to identify strategically significant and/or specialized needs for the department of athletics including development of business proposals for presentation to both internal stakeholders and potential funding partners including alumni and potential donors.

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree – Sports Management, Business, or related field
Preferred:
Master’s Degree
Substantial experience working in a collegiate athletics department with demonstrated fiscal and operational management skills may be considered to substitute the Education
