Provide strategic direction, planning, and execution for all marketing, promotions, ticket sales, and fan experience efforts for assigned sports programs. Develop and implement integrated, data-informed marketing plans that drive revenue growth, maximize attendance, and elevate brand identity of each program. Collaborate directly with head coaches and sport administrators to align departmental goals with team-specific objectives. Lead creative direction for game presentation, including theme nights, video board production, sponsor activations, and in-venue experiences. Ensure strategies drive digital engagement through social media, email campaigns, and merchandise integration, while aligning with university-wide branding efforts.
Serve as primary lead on major department-wide strategic marketing initiatives and marquee events, as designated by the Senior Associate AD. Provide vision and high-level execution of university and community engagement programs that elevate DePaul Athletics brand on a local and national scale. Lead post-event assessments and campaign analysis to measure ROI, identify growth opportunities, and implement continuous improvements. Proactively research national best practices and emerging trends, presenting innovative, data-driven ideas to the department’s executive leadership team.
Oversee aspects of student engagement strategy, including leadership and development of the Blue Crew, DePaul Athletics’ official student spirit group. Serve as department’s key liaison to Student Government Association (SGA), the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), and University Athletic Board (UAB). Lead cross-departmental initiatives aimed at increasing student involvement.
Design and implement community outreach initiatives in collaboration with the department’s community relations unit to position DePaul Athletics as a leader in civic engagement. Serve as the primary liaison between assigned sport programs and external partners to expand the team's visibility in the Chicagoland area. Strategize, coordinate, and track team involvement in youth outreach, school programs, non-profit partnerships, and community service in alignment with NCAA guidelines and DePaul’s Vincentian mission.
Provide comprehensive oversight of the Athletics Marketing student worker program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and professional development. Manage all aspects of student staffing for marketing and fan experience operations across all sports, ensuring high-quality support for game day and non-game day initiatives. Supervise and mentor the department’s internship program, providing students with hands-on experience, performance evaluations, and leadership opportunities. Review and approve student timesheets and ensure compliance with university payroll systems and labor regulations.
Oversee the planning and execution of all external donation requests on behalf of DePaul Athletics, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations and university policies. Lead the fulfillment and strategic solicitation of group ticket initiatives aimed at elementary schools, non-profits, and community organizations, in collaboration with the DePaul Ticket Office. Serve as the central contact for large-volume group ticket accounts to increase community attendance and goodwill. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and strict adherence to all NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University rules and regulations. Actively participate in monthly NCAA rules education sessions.
Lead the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and payroll approval process for 25-35 student workers within the Athletics Marketing department.
Lead marketing plans for assigned sports within the department's allocated budget.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree, preferred.
3-5 years of proven success in marketing, revenue generation, live event production, or other similarly related field, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
Possess a working knowledge of NCAA and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics.
Valid driver's license required.
Must be able to lift marketing materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time (up to 5 hours), including outdoors in the elements.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in marketing and community outreach as they apply to intercollegiate athletics preferred.
Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.
Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
Position requires working evening, weekend, and holiday hours during school year, including several community events in a variety of climate conditions.
• Must attend all home events for assigned Olympic Sports events.
Occasional travel is required.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $50,174.00 to $70,000.00
