The Associate Director of Athletic Development - Donor Relations provides philanthropic support for Creighton Athletics. This role will serve as the primary event coordinator for all athletic events.
The Associate Director of Athletic Development - Donor Relations will work closely with the AVP for Development to increase opportunities for engagement and support locally and nationally for the Athletic Department.
This position will work with athletics staff, university staff and various teams to run events while offering direct support for all Athletics donor and fundraising events.
Work closely with the AVP of Athletic Development to plan, execute and/or staff athletic fundraising events, including but not limited to: Leaders for Life, Hall of Fame Banquet, Champions Dinner, Athletic Director’s Tip-Off Dinner, etc.
Responsibilities include invite list development/targeting, event seating, invitation coordination and follow-up.
Work with Creighton Athletics on donor cultivation, hospitality, stewardship and recognition programs including opportunities held concurrently with athletic contests at Creighton or opponent venues.
Coordinate donor stewardship and cultivation opportunities locally and nationally.
Serve as primary liaison between Athletic Department and University donor relations/alumni relations.
Work with Athletic compliance and coordinate scholarship awarding on an annual basis.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated development experience is required.
Experience with coordinating events is preferred.
Experience working in customer relations is preferred.
Demonstrate understanding of how Athletic Departments run in a University setting preferred and experience working with student-athletes, coaches and athletic department personnel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to speak in a public setting.
Familiarity with Advance, Reeher or comparable fund-raising database.
Familiarity with Archtics, Advantage, Paciolin or comparable ticketing and donor database.
Ability to think strategically and quickly summarize complex and detailed information.
Ability to extensively travel nationally for athletics events and donor visits including during week nights and over weekends.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and BIG EAST Conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations with the ability to interpret, apply, enforce and explain such policies and rules.
