Assistant Director of Communications and Creative Content

The Assistant Director of Communications and Creative Content is responsible for assisting in all aspects of communications, electronic media production and sports information relating to the College of Charleston’s 19 intercollegiate sports with primary sport responsibilites for women's basketball, men's soccer, and tennis.

Required:

  • Ability to speak, read and write clearly and concisely.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Past experience working in InDesign & Photoshop and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, image-editing and web-editing software

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Ability and willingness to build rapport with diverse group of student athletes, coaches, administrators, media, and other key constituents

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and engage a variety of stakeholders, particularly students and other on campus groups

  • Proficient in copy writing, editing using AP style guidelines, proofreading and composition

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes night and weekend hours

  • Ability to gain and maintain working knowledge of University, CAA, and NCAA rules and regulations

  • Ability to gain and maintain working knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues as they pertain to publicity and promotional efforts


Preferred:

  • Knowledge and proficiency in scorekeeping, inputting and compiling statistics for all sports using a variety of different programs such as CBS StatCrew, Golfstat and NCAA Live Stats, etc.

  • Digital photography experience

  • Experience with SideArm platform

  • Experience working with coaching staff and administrators daily

  • Working knowledge of university, CAA, and NCAA rules and regulations
