Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach

This position is partially funded through the NCAA Assistant Coaching Grant.  

The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists in the administration, development, and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division II women’s volleyball program while supporting the mission, values, and strategic goals of Coker University.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with the organization and operation of the women’s volleyball program

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies

  • Assist with planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and competitive contests

  • Support the academic success, personal development, and well-being of student-athletes

  • Assist with scouting, video analysis, game preparation, and performance evaluation

  • Assist with team travel arrangements, equipment management, and other administrative tasks

  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations

  • Represent Coker University and the Department of Athletics in a professional and positive manner

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Vice President of Athletics 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

  • Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes

  • CPR certified


Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division II level

  • Recruiting experience at the collegiate level

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience with recruiting databases and video technology

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards
