Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the Associate Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services/Director of Football Academics position within CCU Athletics, a division of the Provost Office.
The Associate Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services/Director of Football Academics will provide leadership for student-athletes in their pursuits of excellence in the classroom, community, and competition for the football program, as well as oversee academic support services for additional team(s). This position will monitor the academic progress and NCAA athletic eligibility of assigned student-athletes and effectively communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. This position will serve on the SAAS leadership team, supervise an additional SAAS employee, and coordinate the graduate assistant program. Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Coordinates the advisement and registration process for all assigned student-athletes, including schedule changes, practice conflicts, and transfer evaluations. Collaborates with campus partners and advisors as needed. Coordinates practice times with head coaches. Overseas travel letter process for assigned teams and ensure communication with faculty regarding missed class time.
2. Oversees, monitors, and tracks the academic progress of all assigned student-athletes to ensure NCAA eligibility benchmarks are met. This includes providing accurate and timely daily, weekly, and semester academic reports to coaches and supervisor, and meeting regularly with assigned student-athletes to monitor academic progress. Coordinates appointments for tutoring, academic coaching, career services, etc. as needed to proactively support student-athletes. Monitors and/or coordinates study hall schedule for assigned student-athletes. Provides one-on-one assistance to student-athletes to assist with time management, organization, and study skills. Travels with assigned teams as needed. Manages the department’s role in the NCAA certification process for assigned teams.
3. Assists with onboarding new student-athletes, including recruiting, orientation, summer bridge programming, and transfer evaluations. Collaborates with admissions, compliance, registrar and various campus partners. Manages transfer credit evaluations through collaboration with campus departments.
4. Supervises 1 full-time staff member and coordinate all aspects of the graduate assistant program (including hiring, training, onboarding, and supervising). Provides support, training, and professional growth opportunities through collaboration and inclusiveness.
5. Assists with the planning and organization of events and award nominations to promote positive cross-campus, inter-department relationships, and recognize student-athlete success.
Qualifications:
· Required: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and experience in student services programs.
· Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree.

Associate Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services/Director of Football Academics /Student Services Prog Coordinator II(CV70/61121603), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Nights and Weekends are required. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
