SUMMARY
Serve as the primary communications and media liaison for assigned sports consisting of writing releases and features, compiling statistics, updating the website and assisting with social media initiatives promoting the CAA and the membership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Serves as the direct media contact and representative for assigned sports within the conference.
II. Collect and distribute any relevant or significant news for assigned sports. This includes, preseason all-conference teams and honors, national watch lists, selection of weekly CAA awards along with weekly sport-by-sport reports and notes. Provide dependable voice for each sport through creative and original news distribution, web and written releases, digital and social storytelling.
III. Produce and distribute weekly reports and select Players of the Week for assigned sports; Game day reports and on an as-needed basis for postseason for assigned sports.
IV. Compile and maintain statistics for assigned sports.
V. Assist with all aspects of social media, including and not limited to the creation of templates, distribution, and strategies.
VI. Collaborate with digital media team to produce original content through a number of platforms and avenues, including web, social media and television.
VII. Coordinate player/coach interviews and press releases with membership sports information directors for assigned sports
VIII. In support of assigned championships, provide schools, coaches and media with up-to-date information surrounding the event. Coordinate with CAA staff, school communication contacts. Work with CAA video department for execution of digital and TV broadcasts.
IX. Assist and help manage the conference’s social media platforms to include Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc. Engage and follow CAA style and stay up-to-date on current affairs of the league’s followers and fans. Develop social media initiatives and generate plans and objectives through past success, data and understanding of current digital/social media trends.
X. Update and help maintain website with story organization, statistical information, schedule changes or adjustments, relevant links for users and fans.
XI. Create and edit scripts, voiceovers, and other promotional content for the digital media staff.
XII. Ability to work nights and/or weekends when required as well as potential travel associated with Conference Championships.
XIII. Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds.
XIV. Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS
I. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, Excel
II. Proficient with Adobe Suite platforms such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Spark
III. Possess effective communication skills with coaches, school administrators, media members, fans, student-athletes and colleagues;
IV. Experience with social media outlets – Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube

Daily: CAA sport administration staff; CAA video; CAA communications staff;
Weekly: CAA member institutions; external vendors; broadcast network partners;
Monthly: TV Talent; other CAA staff members; various broadcast networks; local television stations

This is an entry-level position with 1-2 years of experience required and a salary range of $43,900 to $45,000. This position has the option of remote work within the eastern time zone and will be required to travel to various championships and conference meetings.
