Job Description:

This position will serve as a senior member of the athletics administrative team responsible for departmental strategic planning, supervision, and management of the safety and well-being of students, coaches, and staff.

Expectations include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Athletic Compliance Office related to all areas of NCAA rules and regulations.
    • Oversee, audit, and review compliance forms, policies, and procedures.
    • Interpret and provide education to students, coaches, athletic staff and representatives of athletics interest on NCAA rules, policies, and regulations.
    • Coordinate and conduct educational sessions with pertinent parties as needed.
    • Provide rules interpretations to coaches and staff as needed.
    • Monitor new NCAA legislation.
    • Manage the athletics department's compliance and monitor compliance issues, including educating staff regarding NCAA rules and regulations, administering secondary rules violations, and institutional rules violation investigations.
    • Report information required by the NCAA and the Gulf South Conference.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the department in collaboration with Admissions, Financial Aid, the Registrar's Office, and the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) in managing academic services to student-athletes.
    • Responsible for all eligibility certification, supervising playing and practice seasons, creating and managing National Letters of Intent (NLI), enforcement and supervision of the department's Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies.
    • Monitor and assist with the progress of prospective student-athletes through the institutional admissions process, including transcript evaluation for incoming freshmen and transfer student-athletes.
    • Monitor and assist with the progress of prospective student-athletes through the NCAA Eligibility Center process.
    • Prepare all NCAA squad lists, national letters of intent, and financial aid agreements.
    • Coordinate receipt and distribution of student-athlete transcripts and student records as needed for eligibility and/or waiver purposes.
  • Monitor student accounts as it pertains to athletic and institutional scholarships.
  • Monitor academic, amateurism, eligibility, and financial aid rules of the NCAA, Gulf South Conference, and Christian Brothers University.
  • Maintain records of student-athletes outside competition, employment, and other activities related to their amateurism status.
  • Assist with sports event administration.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

This position reports to the Director of Athletics and must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students while interacting successfully with department personnel and the College community.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and five (5) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position.
