The Position
Joining a dedicated team of coaches, staff and administrators, the Head Men’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for developing, planning, administering, and evaluating the success of the men’s basketball program. This position will strive to promote student success both on and off the court. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach directs all aspects of the intercollegiate basketball team including coaching, recruiting, scheduling, program administration and budgeting. Additional responsibilities may include performing administrative duties as assigned at the discretion of the Director of Athletics and assigned sport administrator.
This position is also responsible for the administration of all phases of the program in accordance with guidelines from the University, the NCAA, and Mid-American Conference.
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of basketball coaching experience; collegiate and/or professional level experience preferred.
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, following NCAA rules.
• Proven integrity, leadership skills, and ability to motivate student-athletes to be successful academically and athletically.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
