Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $31.25 to $33.65 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Position Summary Information
Summary
Under the general direction of the Athletic Director of Development, the Assistant Director of Development is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of initiatives aimed at increasing the athletics annual giving program. This is done by developing the Lancer Athletic Association (LAA) membership program, implementing two annual giving campaigns, coordinating LAA events, and supporting the development and stewardship efforts of University Advancement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the LAA donor guide and two annual fund campaigns, including direct mail solicitation, email solicitation, phone calls, and stewardship.
Manage and coordinate preparations for LAA events such as pre-games, stewardship events, and open practices.
Assist with solicitation and event management for the annual Lancer Golf Classic.
Manage student-athlete and team participation in LAA annual fund campaigns and stewardship.
Develop written and electronic materials to support campaign fundraising activities.
Develop and maintain LAA presence through direct management of various social media outlets, including Instagram, X, and Facebook.
Screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond independently, when possible.
Primary contact for stewardship of LAA donors <$1,000 annually.
Prepare records such as agendas, notices, minutes, and resolutions for meetings.
Manage and maintain LAA website and content.
Assist in coordinating LAA Board meetings.
Develop and monitor donor files in order to coordinate assigned campaigns, fundraising, and stewardship activities.
Participate in public relations endeavors to support LAA appeals and campaigns.
Maintain a positive professional relationship with the community, and organizations that have an interest in or provide support to California Baptist University.
Collaborate with CBU Alumni Relations to implement and grow Athletic Alumni and Donor events.
Assist with University Advancement events such as Homecoming, Parent Family Weekend, and Bell Tower Society Events.
Manage duties and responsibilities of student workers and event volunteers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and require sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years successful experience related to fundraising and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
