Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Assistant Coach, Women’s Lacrosse. This position assists the Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse in all phases of the Women’s Lacrosse Program and will work with a position group to be assigned by the Head Coach. This includes coaching, teaching, and player development, recruiting, and administrative duties such as coordinating training and travel schedules, video analysis, completing compliance information, and alumni relations. The position supports all efforts to continue to attract the nation’s top women’s lacrosse players to our Division I non-scholarship program. 

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent if international.

  •  2-4 years coaching experience with a competitive club, high school, or collegiate program, preferred.

  •  Prior collegiate coaching experience preferred (and/or a combination of coaching & competitive playing experience).

  •  Competitive collegiate playing experience, preferred.

  •  Experience coaching defense and/or goalies, preferred.

  •  Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.

  •  Excellent sport specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge.

  •  Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.

  •  Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities.

  •  Social media experience, helpful.

  •  Familiarity with FrontRush and Teamworks, or similar, preferred.

  •  Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.

  • Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and ability to coach & motivate.
