
The Head Coach is responsible for building competitive programs while fostering academic success and personal growth among student-athletes. Key responsibilities include recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes, ensuring compliance with NCAA and USA South conference regulations, overseeing budgets and operations, and promoting the program through community engagement and fundraising.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coaching and recruiting success, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of NCAA Division III athletics. A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s preferred), along with coaching experience—head coaching experience strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Build and maintain competitive NCAA Division III Track & Field Programs
· Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes while leading them towards graduation.
· Monitor student-athlete’s progress towards earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Brevard College
· Direct the track & field programs within all NCAA and USA South Athletic Conference rules regulations as well as Brevard College departmental policies, procedures and regulations.
· Coordinates all strategic aspects of the Track & Field programs.
· Represents the track & field programs to various institutional programs and externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public.
· Manages, directs, supervises, and coordinates all administrative tasks of the Track & Field programs.
· Oversees all aspects of the financial operation of the track & field programs.
· Promote the athletic programs at both on and off-campus fundraising events within the community.
· Develop strategies to ensure the appropriate personal and social conduct on and off-campus of the student-athletes under the head coach’s supervision.
· Other duties as assigned by the Associate VP for Athletics.
