Position Summary
Responsibilities include effectively assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the operation of the Men's Basketball Program to include but not be limited to statistical analytics, travel, video and scouting preparations. Assist in student-athlete development, on-campus recruiting, campus engagement, summer camps, social media, and marketing. This position must also uphold the mission of the BGSU athletic department and the institution and be in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Assist with Daily Operations
Work with the Head Coach with the flow of daily correspondence and day to day operations of running a sport program. Help to develop short- and long-range planning.
Assist with Coordinating team activities and Head Coach’s Activities
Help to prepare monthly calendar for team events, practices, community service, campus engagement, speaking engagements, marketing initiatives and media relations.
Assist with coordinating team travel logistic for home and away games
Assist with the development of annual travel budget and monitor all travel expenses in a fiscal year. Help coordinate all land and air transportation and hotel arrangements. Help arrange for team meals.
Assist with Video and Scouting Preparations
Help with videoing of team practices and video exchange for scouting. Work with the Head Coach on statistical analytics and game scouting preparations.
Assist with Summer Camps
Help create and distribute brochure for annual summer camp. Help record all camp enrollment, process camp payments and participate in on-court activities associated with the camps.
Minimum Qualifications:
The following Degree is required:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
The following Experience is required:
1 year of experience in a college, club and/or professional basketball support staff setting and/or coaching
2 years of graduate assistantship experience equals 1 year of professional work
