
Boise State Athletics seeks applicants for the position of Director, Facilities. Under the supervision of the Assistant AD, Operations & Capital Projects, this position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repairs of all building systems, including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and technical systems. This position also oversees all third-party contractors, vendor maintenance and repairs, including, but not limited to, elevators, mechanical PMs, and generator PMs. The Director, Facilities supports all Boise State Sports & Entertainment group facilities, including Albertsons Stadium, ExtraMile Arena, Dona Larsen Park, BOAS Soccer and Tennis Complex, and associated practice, competitive, office, team, and event spaces.
Essential Functions
• Directly manages the supervisory staff responsible for facility services, including custodial or event and meeting production, housekeeping services and building projects.
• Develops and approves the operating procedures for public assembly buildings, custodial, and facilities.
• Has administrator responsibility for evening and weekend managers
• Responsible for department training, recognition, and performance management, provide feedback and approve evaluations working directly with each department supervisor.
• Coordinates, plans, and supervises building construction projects, equipment replacement, furniture replacement and facility upgrades.
• May oversee inspection of office, event, recreational, staff, team, and back-of-house spaces. The position will assess ongoing furnishing and equipment needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five (5) years of professional experience.
• Two (2) + years overseeing commercial property or public assembly buildings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of group dynamics, conflict resolution skills necessary for training, problem solving, etc.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance necessary to develop and interpret department reports.
• Experience in managing budgets, estimating project or equipment costs.
• Ability to manage large multi-use facilities, public assembly buildings, or housing spaces
• Experience supervising, hiring, training, scheduling, progressive discipline, and evaluating multiple staff and/or teams of staff
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial needs and services
