
Join us at the Big 12 Conference, where we are dedicated to providing our institutions with excellent support as they ensure the best athletic and academic experience for their student athletes. This role reports directly to the Controller.
Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for providing administrative and accounting support for conference’s operations while maintaining accurate records, and assisting with budgeting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with all conference, NCAA and accounting bylaws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Maintain routine account journals and prepare basic financial statements
· Monitor and interpret financial data in development of cost analysis and reports
· Reconcile championship event settlements including conference ticket sales data
· Maintain, manage and reconcile accounts receivable (customer setup, invoices, deposits).
· Communication with vendors, vender setup, W-9’s, vendor payments
· Assist with annual audit preparation
· Assist with the development and monitoring of assigned budgets and forecasts
· Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
· Assist with month end reconciliation of bank statements, accounts and other financial records.
· Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. Work experience can be used in lieu of education requirement.
· 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
· Experience on a campus or at a conference is preferred.
· Attention to detail is a must, as this position requires meticulous record-keeping and accuracy in accounting.
· Knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software is preferred.
· Proficient in Excel and have strong computer skills.
· Exceptional communication, writing, and time management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key partners and influence at all levels.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking bending, listening, speaking, and use of office equipment. Some requirements for lifting, pushing, or pulling items less than 30 pounds. Ability to work long non-standard hours, including holidays, nights, weekends, games days or other event dates.
