
Description:
Under general supervision directs, provides leadership, manages and oversee all coaching and strategic aspects of the University’s NCAA Division 1 sports program in such a manner as to build and maintain a competitive, quality program that reflects positively on the image and reputation of the University at all times.
Directs and coordinates all aspects of the recruitment process in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Organizes, prepares, and conducts individual and team practices, training and competition.
Responsible for the hiring and direct supervision of the coach staff.
Oversees all operational aspects of the specific sports program. Including travel, meals, athletic gear, etc.
Oversees all aspects of the financial operation of the specific sports program
Represents sports program to various institutional programs and externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public.
Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Experience: Three to five years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. The ideal candidate will have experience coaching highly competitive golf, preferably at the NCAA Division 1 level.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the specified sports program.
Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, as well as athletic recruitment methods and techniques.
Skilled in evaluating talent in order to recruit players to improve the program.
Ability to lead and guide Division I student-athletes in area of specialty to include identifying deficiencies and providing instruction to improve overall skill and performance.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Skilled in budget preparation and management.
Thrives in an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
