
Description:
Under general supervision, directs, provides leadership, and oversees all strength and conditioning activities for the University's 18 NCAA Division I sports.
Manages overall operation of University's weight room for the University's 18 NCAA Division I sports, including scheduling of weight room, maintenance of equipment, supervision of daily weight room operations/activities, etc.
Organizes, prepares, and conducts strength and conditioning workouts with specified teams.
Oversee and manage the fueling stations, including ordering, stocking and budget management; work with local sport nutritionists, to help with performance nutrition for our student-athletes.
Supervises graduate assistants in development and delivery of strength and conditioning workouts for specified teams.
Directs all strategic aspects of the University's strength and conditioning program for student-athletes.
Communicates regularly with coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators to ensure the welfare and safety of all student-athletes while meeting team goals for strength and conditioning.
Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred. NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (SCCC) certification, as well as First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
Experience: Four to six years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Experience training basketball and Olympic sport athletes preferred.

Ability to lead, instruct, and motivate Division 1 student-athletes to improve overall performance.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sports performance/strength and conditioning best practices.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to manage and mentor personnel.
Skilled in organizing and coordinating.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Thrives in an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and hard work.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
