Position Function: Plan, organize, supervise and direct day-to-day ticket operations for Ball State University Athletics, including but not limited to ticketing, premium seating, and support of the development of a comprehensive strategy for season ticket, group, and promotional ticket sales. Ensure all goals and objectives are met with strict adherence to NCAA and MAC rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department and the university.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Serve as operational point person and primary user of ticketing software (i.e. Ticketmaster Archtics and related software) for the Department of Athletics. Responsible for ticket operations and customer service management for all ticketed home events for Ball State Athletics, ticketing for select away and neutral site events (i.e. visiting team tickets for football away games), and occasional non-Athletics events within Athletics venues.

·         Hire, schedule, supervise, and train student and/or game day ticketing staff and graduate assistants on all facets of daily ticket sales, cash and credit card transactions, and customer service. Develop, administer and audit cash handling procedures.

·         Maintain knowledge of best practices and updates related to ticketing system software and other relevant technology. Act as liaison between Ball State Athletics and ticketing software partners. Act as liaison between Ball State Athletics and other campus units (i.e. Information Technology) for matters relating to ticket operations, i.e. ticket scanners, ticket printers, etc.

·         Oversee the management and distribution of complimentary tickets for coach and student-athlete guests at home events and select away and neutral site events (i.e. football away games and postseason events). Adhere to NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and University policies regarding complimentary tickets. Report any potential MAC and NCAA rules violations to appropriate parties.

·         Provide operational leadership and strategic support to ticket sales staff by developing ticket sales initiatives, leveraging ticketing system data, managing inventory, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering ticketing system training to maximize revenue and customer engagement.

·         Collaborate with ticket sales staff, Athletics Marketing, and other campus partners to develop, implement, and evaluate creative ticket sales campaigns, promotional initiatives, and revenue-generating strategies that increase attendance and ticket revenue.

·         Analyze ticket sales trends, customer purchasing behavior, and event performance to identify new revenue opportunities, develop targeted sales lists, produce reports, and recommend data-informed strategies that support departmental ticket sales objectives.

·         Provide operational support to the Ball State Cardinal Varsity Club (Athletics fundraising) and other internal stakeholders through ticket inventory management, donor ticket allocations, ticket system data mining, report creation, list development, and ticketing system training to support fundraising and stewardship efforts.

·         Evaluate all policies and procedures for relevance and updates to keep up with technology and current rules and regulations from departmental, University, Conference, State, Federal and NCAA groups.

·         Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment.

·         Ticket operations and/or sales experience in professional and/or college sports.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Master's degree

·         Division 1 ticket office experience

·         Knowledge and experience with ticketing software, specifically Ticketmaster and/or Paciolan.
