Act as the primary point of contact for print and electronic media, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
Function as an internal beat reporter, creating engaging and innovative content across written, video, social media, and graphic formats in collaboration with the External Operations team.
Oversee and update the athletics department website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
Craft and edit various departmental communication materials, including media guides, postseason publications, press releases, game notes, and website content.
Collaborate with the athletics marketing team to amplify departmental stories through digital and social media platforms.
Develop and write press releases, news features, and promotional content about coaches and student-athletes, distributing this information to the media and public via the athletics website and social media.
Manage the nomination and promotion processes for student-athlete and coach awards.
Maintain comprehensive historical records, statistics, and photographs, ensuring accurate documentation of department information.
Support television, radio, and streaming broadcasts of games and events as needed.
Oversee and manage the communications department budget.
Travel with teams when required, supporting them during competitions and events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience in sports information and/or media relations.
Proficiency in Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), Statistical software, Microsoft Office, and Website Content Management Systems.
