
The Supervisor of Officials – Women’s Basketball is primarily responsible for planning, assigning, and executing the officiating program for the Atlantic Coast Conference, American Conference, and Big East Conference as well as directing the Women’s Basketball Officiating Alliance (the Alliance). The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic and technical comprehension anchored by a collaborative approach that will enable them to successfully manage multiple scheduling needs while simultaneously coordinating a large quantity of personnel across sites. The candidate should enjoy working and communicating with others and thrive in a fast-paced forward-thinking environment, while possessing a strong ability to convey information to a broad range of constituents. The full-time position reports to the ACC Senior Vice President – Women’s Basketball, with accountability to the American and Big East when performing relevant duties for those Conferences.

The position will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
ACC, American and Big East Conferences
· Administer the Women’s Basketball Officiating Program, including the management of the roster of game officials (recruitment, selection, training, mentoring, development, retention and release of officials)
· Assign game officials for all regular season games (including scrimmages and exhibitions) and for respective conference tournament games. - This includes reassignments as necessary based on unforeseen factors; weather, postponements, etc.· Coordinate and communicate all game assignments with the officials and each member institution using our officiating platform.
· Serve as a liaison between the conference office, officials and coaches.
· Provide consistent communication with coaches and review all applicable data for the purpose of developing consistent and accurate in-game performances. Ensure timely responsiveness to any requests and outreach from coaches following post-game comments and protocol reviews.
· Oversee all administrative record keeping for officiating of regular season and respective conference tournament games; including generating detailed reports on an ad-hoc basis and the conclusion of the season.
· Facilitate the nomination process of officials for postseason advancement into the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and other postseason events/tournaments.
· Oversee all budget responsibilities for, but not limited to, the preparation and oversight of the women’s basketball budget components related to the officiating program needs, such as technology, travel, preseason orientation clinic, tournament assignments, and the observer and game grading programs.
· Coordinate and track evaluations of officials during the regular season and respective conference tournament ensuring rules compliance and interpretation consistency.
· Oversee the observer and game grader programs including, but not limited to, the selection, training, and execution of payments of the observers and game graders.
· Prepare preseason game management materials, manuals and procedures and participate in preseason game management calls and meetings with appropriate conference personnel and institution staff.
· Supervise any positions, contracted by the conference regarding WBB, including assistants and coordinators.
· Represent respective conferences at tournaments, games, meetings and events as required by the position and as assigned.
· Serve on NCAA and ACC committees as appointed.
Women’s Basketball Officiating Alliance (the Alliance)
· Establish relationships and collaborate with other conference commissioners, officiating coordinators/supervisors who may enter into the Alliance.
· Lead the collaboration and direction of the Alliance with other conference supervisors on educational materials and direction.
· Assist in developing an officiating pipeline and pool of qualified officials, including talent identification, to continue to build our roster of officials.

Education Requirements and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or professional certification in a related field.
· Officiating experience, preferably at D1, NBA or WNBA level, is preferred.
· Understanding of assignment and evaluation process preferred.
· Mastery of NCAA Women’s Basketball rules is required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
· Must be able to travel to multiple sites as required by position needs.

Work Environment:
The ACC offices are located in Charlotte, NC, and while relocation is not required for this position, our expectation is that you will attend all monthly staff meetings and events, in addition to mandatory Women’s Basketball and Conference wide meetings that include the membership that will be scheduled in our home city. This remote position regularly operates in an office setting and at sporting venues. Additionally, please note the following:
· Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk or computer.
· Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 4 hours.
· Due to the nature of the ACC’s business, travel will occur to multiple sites as dictated by major and minor event schedules.
· Due to the nature of events, you must be able to endure varying weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and high and low temperatures.
· Understanding that due to the nature of our business working hours will include nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
