Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Commissioner for Strategic Communications, the Assistant Director - Strategic Communications will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
· Manage the strategic communications efforts for ACC Volleyball and Softball, and other assigned Olympic sports.
· Manage social media platforms of primary sports with appropriate content and assist in the strategic plan and execution of ACC social media platforms.
· Present annual communications updates and analytics during coaches’ and committee meetings and/or teleconferences for all designated sports.
· Serve as Communications point of contact for ACC events, including the ACC Softball Championship and other championships for assigned sports.
· Assist in communications operations of the annual ACC Football Championship Game, ACC Basketball Tournaments, ACC Football Kickoff, ACC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tipoff and other tournaments and events as designated by the Senior Associate Commissioner/Strategic Communications.
· Build a professional relationship with the league’s communications departments and with local, regional, and national media outlets across various platforms.
· Foster relationships with television producers and talent (specifically ACC Network) for assigned sports and communicate information to enhance the perception of the ACC and its member institutions.
· Represent the Conference at various events as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or professional certification in Communications or related field OR the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
3+ years of professional work experience. Previous experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
· Problem solving, critical thinking and excellent time management skills are required.
· Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:
This position typically operates in an office setting but also at indoor and outdoor venues including stadiums, arenas, and fields. Additionally, please note the following:
· Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk or computer.
· Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 4 hours.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs. of equipment.
· Due to the nature of the ACC’s business, travel will occur to multiple sites as dictated by major and minor event schedules.
· Due to the nature of events indoors and outdoors, you must be able to endure varying weather conditions including wind, rain, and high and low temperatures.
· Understanding that due to the nature of our business, working hours can include nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
