What to Expect
The Director, Football Player Personnel directs the overall recruiting effort of the football program through oversight of the recruiting database and evaluation of current team needs to effectively advance Army West Point Football while upholding standards of excellence established by the Head Football Coach. All the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the United States Military Academy (“USMA”), Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”), the American Athletic Conference (“Conference”), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”).
What You'll Do
50% Database Management:
Oversee ARMS Recruiting System Database and support the coaching staff in effectively utilizing the system and mitigating any unforeseen issues.
Work with the Director of Compliance and Executive Director of Player Personnel to ensure any NCAA compliance issues are addressed and mitigated.
Responsible for ensuring a smooth system to evaluate a large nationwide pool of talent to identify qualified prospects for staff and coaches to execute detailed recruitment.
Identify quality sources of recruit data and make decisions within budgetary constraints to optimize resources.
Ensure recruits are pushed through the pipeline at the designated tempo to meet Head Coach expectations.
20% Recruiting and Team Board Management:
Responsible for timely update and accuracy of all boards and tags to include Recruiting Big Board, Academy Board, Team Board and Prep Board.
Attend practices and games to evaluate current roster and assist the Executive Director of Player Personnel to develop improvement strategies for future players, identify future needs and recommend potential goals or numbers limitations by position to the Head Coach.
15% Coach Administrative Support:
Oversee Head Coach recruiting travel and assist position coaches with their individual recruiting needs (e.g., travel logistics and planning, academic/character/talent evaluation, communication planning (HFC calls, text lists), recruit pipeline oversight/management).
Ensure the data entry of all academic and athletic information from area coach prospects into football recruiting software.
10% Visiting Coach/Scout Liaison:
Act as staff NFL liaison for visiting scouts and college or high school coaches.
Primary point of contact for NFL Pro Day, Coaches Clinic and Prospect Camps.
5% Other Duties as Assigned:
Support team travel, game day recruiting, on campus recruiting events, campus tours, etc.
What We Can Offer
$55,000 - $60,000

AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
