What to Expect
The Director, Compliance supports Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. ("AWPAA") in overseeing NCAA compliance efforts. This role involves assisting with the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures, systems, and strategies. The Director will help manage the day-to-day operations of AWPAA’s NCAA compliance program, ensuring adherence to all Patriot League/affiliate conference, NCAA, and United States Military Academy (“USMA”) rules. Additionally, the position provides education and support services for all stakeholders and monitors activities to ensure compliance with USMA, NCAA, and conference regulations.
What You'll Do
40% Monitoring
Direct playing and practice season monitoring.
Direct monitoring of all unofficial records and related activities.
Coordinate complimentary admissions for cadet-athletes and prospective cadet-athletes.
Assist with in-person practice and competition monitoring.
Assist with review and fact finding related to potential NCAA violations and waivers.
Coordinate coaching limitations monitoring.
Liaison with the Sports Camp office.
Coordinate review and approval of outside competition.
30% Athletic Eligibility
Provide general oversight over continuing eligibility in collaboration with academic staff and registrar.
Manage the cadet-athlete tryout process.
Execute evaluation of PSA tryout activities – on-campus evaluations, tryout exceptions.
Coordinate preparation of NCAA squad lists for all sports.
Assist with roster management and data entry into USMA and compliance-related systems.
Manage all matters related to inbound and outbound transfers.
25% Administrative/Organizational Development
Coordinate all staff rules education initiatives.
Manage compliance social media channels
Provide Patriot League and NCAA rules interpretations
Assist with policy review and development.
Represent compliance office at meeting/events as assigned.
5% Other Duties
Other duties as assigned.
What We Can Offer
$60,000 - $61,000
This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries that AWPAA believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted position. AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
