Coordinator of Game Day Operations and Fan Engagement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Game Day Operations

  • Coordinate logistics for home athletic events including venue setup, tailgating, ticketing, staffing, signage, and timelines

  • Serve as event manager for assigned sports, ensuring quality control and consistent fan experience

  • Support audio/visual components of game day including music, videoboard, and PA script coordination

  • Oversee the scheduling and training of event staff, student workers, and volunteers

  • Marketing and Fan Engagement

  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing plans and promotions to increase attendance and visibility

  • Lead in-game promotional activities including contests, giveaways, and themed events

  • Collaborate with campus departments, student groups, and external partners to maximize student and community engagement

  • Serve as the liaison to spirit groups and student spirit initiatives.

  • Community Outreach and Special Events

  • Help plan and implement outreach events, youth engagement programs, and special celebrations (e.g., Homecoming, Senior Nights)

  • Build relationships with local schools, youth leagues, and community organizations to grow the ATU fan base

  • Administrative Support

  • Maintain promotional inventory

  • Assist in supervising interns, student marketing teams, and event day personnel

  • Contribute to digital content and social media initiatives as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with the athletic schedule

  • Microsoft Office Suite familiarity

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sport management, marketing, communications, or related field

  • 1-2 years of experience in athletic marketing, operations, or event management (student or relatable experience accepted)

  • Experience in NCAA Division II or collegiate athletic operations

  • Knowledge of fan engagement strategies, promotional planning, and game presentation

  • Supervisory experience with student workers or interns

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or event production software is a plus

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

  • All athletic facilities. Indoor and outdoor work environment

  • Due to the nature of athletics, evening and weekend work will be required
