Assistant Director of Operations and Events (Held Center)

Albion College invites applications for the Assistant Director of Operations and Events (Held Center). This position is responsible for marketing the Held Center and scheduling and executing  events to generate revenue.  The Assistant Director will ensure event compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations. Will also provide administrative and operational support as determined by the Director. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must contribute to a campus climate that emphasizes a commitment to working with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures and backgrounds.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan that will market the Held Center to increase

events and produce revenue.

2. Manage all social media and develop strategic marketing plans in collaboration with the Albion College

Marketing Department.

3. This position will be an integral partner with Institutional Advancement assisting with fundraising,

developing new and growing existing sources of revenue

4. Responsible for scheduling outside events to utilize the Held Center and surrounding property.

5. Responsible for providing professional customer service to facility visitors, vendors and renters, including

providing site tours and being their point of contact as needed.

6. Responsible for developing and executing contracts for outside events.

7. Responsible for coordinating additional staffing of these events (if needed)

8. Responsible for occasional attendance and support of evening and weekend events

9. Ensure event compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.

10. Coordinating facility preparation and cleanup based on event needs.

11. Coordinating with the Equestrian Director to ensure that event execution safely and efficiently coincides

with Held Center daily operations and collegiate teams’ needs.

12. Assisting the Equestrian Director with managing daily Held Center operations and administrative duties

(i.e. purchasing, budgets and inventory) as needed.

13. Other duties as assigned.
