Duties and Responsibilities
Provide the Director and staff with leadership for the long-range planning and direction of the athletic program
Support the Director of Athletics in all aspects of the department's operations, including but not limited to athletic program management, compliance with regulations, promotion of student-athlete achievements, and enhancement of athletic facilities.
Responsible for the overall management and administration of campus wide recreation services, facilities, and programs
Duties will include oversight of SAAC leadership and development, NCAA compliance, and gameday event management.
Provide direct compliance education and interpretation oversight to ensure compliance with NCAA, Presidents' Athletic Conference, and affiliate conferences policies and procedures
Work with academic and student life staff to develop and administer academic enhancement strategies to help increase student retention and academic success
Serve as the department coordinator for club sports and intramurals at the college.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of minimum experience in college athletic administration. 3-5 years of work in a related field preferred. Candidates must also be organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Desktop publishing skills as related to the production of publications required. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite InDesign CC, Photoshop Illustrator, and Stat Crew necessary. Strong overall communication skills, including excellent writing and editorial abilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have direct supervisory role for an assigned number of NCAA Division III varsity sports. The position is also responsible for supervision of 12-15 person student worker staff.
