Responsible for developing staffing plans, scheduling on-call staff and private security, designing and implementing venue and site layouts, and executing internal and external special event plans for Nebraska Athletics. This position will work within computer-aided-design software platforms to layout, design, and meet crowd density thresholds per space as approved by the state fire marshal designee. Create site layout options for all spaces used by internal and external groups for special event purposes.

Manage needs and expectations from the internal or external event requestor and collaborate across departments for event support. Organize and work directly with facility tours and oversee staff assigned during these special events and tours. Work within the Event Staff database platform to issue availability and scheduling for each special event scheduled. Weekend and evening hours will be required.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years full-time experience within the event management industry; equivalent education/ experience considered. Proficient in computer-aided-design software programs and experience in building out (to-scale) space for events while understanding crowd density and local, state, and federal code compliance for occupancy of space within a state funded higher educational system. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with others. Criminal history background check will be conducted.
