Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics’ compliance office.

  • Coordinate and reconcile Financial Aid and Scholarship disbursement and reporting with the Financial Aid and Business offices, maintain financial records of student-athletes, assist with dissemination of vouchers for books, uniforms and other necessities as permissible, liaison with bookstore for athletes on books scholarship.

  • Prepare National Letters of Intent, Financial Aid agreements, and Commitment Letters.

  • Administer, educate, monitor and enforce institutional, Southern Conference and NCAA compliance policies and procedures for all intercollegiate athletic teams.

  • Manage student-athlete records in the applicable databases (ARMS, TEAMS) and coordinate with on campus offices in regards to student records (ex: Financial Aid, Registrar, Admissions, etc).

  • Develop a comprehensive educational compliance program for all coaches, student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and boosters.

  • Develop and implement athletics compliance policies and procedures.

  • Research and issue interpretations of NCAA and Southern Conference rules and regulations.

  • Prepare and file reports, waivers and appeals to the appropriate governing bodies within the NCAA and Southern Conference.

  • Coordinate and execute forms including but not limited to; contact evaluation forms, phone logs, declaration of season forms, and NCAA eligibility forms.

  • Conduct the initial eligibility certification process for all incoming freshman and transfer student-athletes, including oversight of all transcript review process, and certification of continuing student-athlete eligibility.

  • Implement and administer an institutional camp and clinic monitoring program.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree. 1-2 years’ working in a Division I NCAA Athletic Compliance Department. Highly effective communication skills; written and verbal. Attention to detail and organization are essential. Ability to succeed in a high paced environment. Working knowledge of DocuSign and NCAA Apps of CA, EC, NLI, LSDBi, etc. Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus constituents, students, coaches and parents.

Preferred Requirements:

Master’s degree or Law degree. 2-5 years of compliance experience at the Division I level. Working knowledge of ARMS compliance software and TEAMS. Experienced with Financial Aid (Bylaws 15 and 16) and waiver submissions.
