Position Overview
This role manages and oversees the daily operations of the Spirit Shop e-commerce website to achieve budget goals, maintain appropriate product selection & inventory levels, and ensure excellence in customer service standards. Maintains and refreshes the look of the website as needed. Works with buyers to select and upload appropriate products. Manages inventory levels, initiates promotions, and deletes outdated products as necessary. Handles all customer service issues and communication related to e-commerce orders. Trains and supervises e-commerce student employees. Manages Spirit Shop social media accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manages and oversees the daily operations of the Spirit Shop e-commerce program. Achieves e-commerce sales budget goals & monitors website traffic. Handles all customer service communication and issues in a professional & timely manner. Ensures that all e-commerce orders are fulfilled, processed, packaged & shipped within 72 hours of order being placed. Works with carriers [FedEx, UPS , USPS ] to manage all shipping requirements. Processes e-commerce returns. Handles all post season and NIL e-commerce merchandising & e-commerce sales needs. Creates and sends out weekly promotional ads. Photographs products and/or models as needed for marketing needs.
2. Maintains website using current e-commerce platform. Adds e-commerce products, maintains inventory levels, sets promotions, and deletes outdated products. Make seasonal updates & changes to keep website looking fresh & current. Maintains Spirit Shop social media accounts. Works with ITS to ensure all compliance and technology requirements are met.
3. Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student’s assignment, and coaching e-commerce and stock associates.
4. Assists in campus store, including open/close, as needed. Assists in the staffing of major university store sales events including but not limited to Family Weekend, Homecoming, National Marquette Day, Graduation, Reunion Weekend.
5. Works with buyers to determine e-commerce product selection. Ensures that product selection is relevant and comprehensive and meets changing customer demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High school diploma
A minimum of one year of experience in e-commerce or website maintenance, retail, customer service or related field
Basic e-commerce or related website maintenance skills
Basic Adobe Photoshop editing skills
Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. boxes
Regular use of ladders
Job requires substantial time standing at least 50% of the time.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Some supervisory experience preferred
HTML skills preferred
MS Office preferred
