About This Role:
Provide medical services to Lamar University Women’s Soccer student athletes under the direction of the Director of Sports Medicine and team physicians. Must have the ability to make independent decisions in the following areas: injury assessment, injury referrals, injury care management, return to play, emergency care, communication and administration. This position requires the ability to work with the athletic training staff,
strength and conditioning staff, sport coaches, athletic administration, team physicians, and various departments across campus. This position may require you to work non-traditional hours, including early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel required. This job is not suitable for remote work.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
Assist team Physician and Director of Sports Medicine in injury recognition, treatment,
rehabilitation, and conditioning of the student-athlete. Accurately maintain all records
and reports (physical examinations, injury records, physician notes, treatment &
rehabilitation notes, insurance claims, etc.).
Serve as a clinical preceptor for athletic training students.
Assist with departmental facility upkeep, inventory and supply ordering.
Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Sports Medicine.

Physical Requirements:
Bend, lift, carry items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Manual dexterity of hands/fingers to provide care and utilize medical equipment. Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, reading signs, and traffic signals.
Job Conditions:
Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment. May work in all weather conditions. May work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Athletic Training, or related field/concentration required.
0-2 years’ experience as a certified Athletic Trainer
Strong organization, administrative and communication skills.
Eligible for Texas Athletic Training License.
Current Board of Certification (BOC) and CPR/AED Certifications
