
Position Overview
Oversee the direction, vision, compliance, hiring, and process management of the healthcare providers in Athletics as well as budget management for Sports Medicine. Athletic Trainers will report to this leader.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership over athletic healthcare operations: the cadre of licensed Athletic Trainers will look to this leader for onboarding, assignments, solutions, accountability, and support in their work environment
Work directly with the Team Physician(s) to define the delivery of healthcare, manage Policy and Procedures, Emergency Action Plans, and Medical Records
Update and communicate Policy & Procedures to applicable Athletics Staff
Collaborate with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach on return to play procedures and policies
Assess healthcare delivery quality and develop quality improvement processes
Guide direct reports in medical record processes
Develop a network of healthcare resources for Butler Athletics
Communicate across the network of colleagues within the NCAA, Big East Conference, and the Pioneer Football League
Aid in protocols and the safety of strength and conditioning facilities
Maintain the sports medicine facilities to State of Indiana standards
Act as the Privacy Officer for HIPAA within sports medicine operations
Educate coaches on NCAA processes and protocol regarding concussion, sickle cell, REDS, and any additional mandatory processes
Provide a safe work environment for direct reports
Required Qualifications
Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Indiana
NATA BOC credentialed Athletic Trainer
Demonstrable experience as a collegiate Athletic Trainer
Experience with Staff Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
NCAA / NAIA championship event experience
Experience with Budget Process
Experience/relationships with industry vendors
Demonstrable experience working with Team Physician(s)
Previous leadership experience
